I painted and matte coated the dash, preserving the silver details.
I might mention at this point that the plastic used in kits like this is not polystyrene. For some reason, they typically use some sort of PVC. This might be what allows the heavy coloration. But the main point is that the types of glues used by modelers will not work on this stuff.
Tamiya makes a PVC cement that works well. But I rarely had to use it.
